This is the award presentation at the Corporals Training at Camp Roberts on July 21, 2016.  It is inspiring and encouraging to see such young and enthusiastic Marines. The young Marine who received the "Gung-Ho" Marine award is an exceptional example of what we can look forward in all our future Marines.

Tim Haley and Bob Prophet joined Jesse in this fine representation of our Detachment 680.  This is exactly what our League is meant to do!

AmpSurf Event:

October 5th-8th, 2012 disabled veterans, police and firefighters, along with other adults & children with disabilities traveled to Pismo Beach, California to experience the healing power of the ocean and the thrill of surfing. Many of these Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen, & Marines lost limbs, were burned, have a traumatic brain injury (TBI) or have PTSD from serving in operations overseas. Our police and firefighter heroes were injured here at home in the line of duty. All came to experience something most thought they could not do.

AmpSurf’s trained instructors, along with professional and local surfers will provided surf instruction for Operation Restoration. This marks the 7th year of our Operation Restoration event, and the tenth year AmpSurf has been putting these events together. AmpSurf’s goal is to Promote, Inspire, Educate, and Rehabilitate through the healing power of the ocean and adaptive surfing. AmpSurf’s events have grown from only serving a few to now serving over 450 people a year.
