MARINE CORPS LEAGUE DETACHMENT 680
Old Business: a. Minutes: A motion was made by John Plunkett and seconded by Ray Bacon to accept the minutes from the Nov 2011 meeting as printed in the Guidon. Motion was carried. b. Paymasters’ Report: Motion to accept the report for Nov 2011 was made by Greg Gilchrist and seconded by John Muller The motion was carried. REPORTS: No reports. New Business: 1. The following members have been elected to serve as officers and will be installed at the Jan 2012 meeting. Commandant: Todd Frederick 1st Vice Commandant: Dana Cummings Jr. Vice Commandant: Greg Gilchrist Adjutant To be appointed Paymaster Bob Clark Judge Advocate: John Plunkett Sgt At Arms: Jim Pickens Chaplain Bob Prophet Assistant Chaplain Oliver Kline 2. Outgoing Paymaster made a recommendation that the current Laptop owned by the League be upgraded or purchase a newer model. After some discussion it was decided that the recommendation be tabled until the new Adjutant and Paymaster take over the administration duties and are better able to evaluate the need for a computer owned by the League as most every officer has a home computer now. 3. John Muller read a message from Barbara Wolcott. A motion was made by Dana Cummings and seconded by Ray Bacon to give a special certificate to Barbara for her many years of service to the Toys 4 Tots program here on the Central Coast.
Old Business: 1. Commandant encouraged the Detachment to keep up with our commitments. 2. Bob also suggested that the new board get started on the preparations for 2012 Birthday Ball as it takes much preplanning to be successful. Good of the League and Announcements: Dana announced that he has an opening in his office for a Asst Veteran Service Officer for the County of San Luis. Applications are available on line and the deadline for applications is Dec 18, 2011. Cody Elliot, a local wounded Vet, is coming home Thursday Dec 15 at 2:30. He will be spending a few days with his family and then will be going back to San Diego for more medical treatment. John O’Connell reported that he and George Galvan have joined the Grizzly Academy advisory board and Gay Galvan is retiring from the board after many years of service to the Academy. 50/50 drawing: The drawing took in $38.00 $19.00 went into the Treasury and $19.00 was won by Bob Clark. Marine Hymn was sung. Closing prayer lead by Chaplain Meeting adjourned at 2000 until 1900 Hrs Jan 10th, 2012

CORPS LEAGUE DETACHMENT 680 1. Call to order 1900 2. Pledge of Allegiance. The pledge of allegiance was lead by Commandant 3. Invocation: Given by the Chaplain 4. Roll Call of Officers: All present except for the Chuck Ward, Judge Advocate.He was excused. New Business: 1. Minutes: A motion to accept the minutes from the Oct meeting was made by Jim Pickens and seconded by Chuck Baldwin. Motion was carried. 2. Paymasters’ Reports: Motion to accept the reports for Oct 2011 was made by John O’Connell and second by Bruce Marchese. Motion was carried. 3. Bob brought up a request from MCL National about their fundraiser. No action was taken by Detachment 680 4. The winner of the Rifle Raffle was Roy Cinawalt from Atascadero. Old Business: 1. Bob reported that the driver’s insurance company paid for the PHT sign that was damaged on 101 & 46 East. 3. Bob thanked everyone who helped make the Birthday Ball such a huge success. This year’s Ball is getting great reviews. GOOD OF THE LEAGUE AND ANNOUNCEMENTS Bob read a letter from Carla Peterson and a note of thanks to the League from Mrs. Perriguey. Tim Haley auctioned off a lot of leftover stuff from the ball we made some money. 50/50 Drawing: $60.00 was deposited into the Treasury because the winner of the 50/50 donated his $30 to the League.
